John Ball Zoo

John Ball Zoo is an urban zoological park in Grand Rapids. Visitors can learn about fascinating animals and support the zoo’s conservation efforts. It opened in 1891 on land given by John Ball, and the zoo currently has 238 species and 1,184 total animals. 

You can see the adorable and rare red panda in their habitat! They also have elephants, tigers, a Komodo dragon, and a black-footed cat from Africa. The Intersection

The Intersection is a beloved music venue in Downtown Grand Rapids. It can hold 1,600 guests at its largest stage Elevation, and it holds more intimate shows with 200 fans at The Mint stage.  

It features a variety of local and national artists from across music genres. There are four bars in the nightclub, and the venue is ADA compliant. Visitors can find parking at nearby lots and meters. The Intersection in Grand Rapids is a great place to watch an awesome show. 

Long Road Distillers

Long Road Distillers is the hip neighborhood distillery you’ve been looking for. They make a variety of vodka, gin, whisky, apple brandy, and liqueurs. It was started by Michigan locals Kyle VanStrien and Jon O’Connor in 2015. 

The distillery is part of the flourishing craft beverage culture in Grand Rapids. In 2020, they were nominated for best craft distillery by USA Today. They also have a restaurant and bar serving their own drinks. Long Road Distillers is a great local business in Grand Rapids!
