Grand Rapids Public Museum

The Grand Rapids Public Museum is a museum for West Michigan history in Downtown Grand Rapids. Founded in 1854, the history museum has three floors of permanent and traveling exhibits. Admission is $8 for adults and $3 for children. 

Visitors can learn about West Michigan’s ecosystem, Native Americans in the state, and Grand Rapids in the 1890s. Michigan has a diversity of ecosystems such as wetlands, forests, and dune systems. The Grand Rapids Public Museum tells the stories of West Michigan in an exciting way. 

Robinette’s Apple Haus & Winery

At Robinette’s Apple Haus & Winery, you will find apples in a multitude of forms. They have an orchard, bakery, and winery for you to enjoy. The Apple Haus contains the bakery, dining area, and winery and is open year-round. Robinette’s makes wine, soft cider, and hard cider on-site.  

During the picking season, they have a wonderful variety of apples including Lodi, Zestar!, Honeycrisp, Cortland, Jonagold, and many more! The family farm was started in 1911. Robinette’s Apple Haus & Winery is a fun place to visit in West Michigan! 

In 2002, the current cathedral organs were installed by the famous pipe organ company Orgues Létourneau. Parishioners from the church volunteer with non-profits such as Westminster Food Pantry and Habitat for Humanity to benefit the community. The Cathedral of Saint Andrew is a stunning building and cultural icon of the city. 

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park

The park is a 158-acre botanical garden with beautiful outdoor sculptures. Visitors can enjoy indoor gardens, nature trails, and education centers. The park has 300 pieces of artwork which are mostly outdoor sculptures. It contains The American Horse by Nina Akamu, a 24-foot-tall bronze sculpture of a horse. 

Visiting this cultural site is an enlightening experience, and the park is also ADA accessible. It was founded by Meijer supermarket founder Frederik Meijer in 1995.
